From "Sodapalooza" to a free hair blowout, Laura Thornquist shares "insider Savings" tips.

The summer brings "Sodapalooza" back to all RaceTrac convenient stores. All summer get fountain drinks for 49 cents at RaceTrac.

If you live near Little Elm, stop by the new RaceTrac RT6K store, which is 6,000 square feet of retail space and  has 24-hour frozen yogurt.

RaceTrac is also hosting a contest that runs through September 2 where you can win free fountain drinks for an entire year.  As a special treat, we have a RaceTrac gift basket to giveaway. It includes a $100 gift card, RaceTrac mugs and cups, a Sodapalooza T-shirt and coupons for yogurt, fountain drinks and other food at RaceTrac. Go to my website, mydfwmommy.com, for the details.

And, if you are traveling a lot this summer, you're probably burning through the fuel. At over $3 a gallon, it can get pricey. So, here are some ways to save on gas. Sign up for fuel rewards programs.

Both Tom Thumb and Kroger have gas rewards programs that can save big bucks at the pump. And, if you have a Shell gas station nearby, you'll definitely want to play the new "Spin to Save" instant win game. There are tons of big time winners, plus you get a chance to win a discount on your gasoline purchase, anywhere from 5 cents to 25 cents off per gallon.

If you have a special event coming up, you may want to book a free blowout.

When you make an appointment at your local Ulta salon for July 6, 13 and 20 between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., you can get a free blowout using Living Proof products. You will need to schedule an appointment to get the free blowout.

And, if you spend $25 on Living Proof products, you will get a free Frizz Restyling spray worth $24.

Also, Tuesday is the last day to enjoy a free kids meal at IKEA. Choose from any three kid-sized items to create their favorite meal. This is for kids under 12 years of age only.
