Are you planning to do any shopping over the Labor Day weekend? Laura Thornquist gives some insider savings tips and shopping advice.
Labor Day weekend is the last big shopping weekend before Black Friday, so it's not a bad idea to think ahead to the holiday season.
This is a great weekend to find end of the summer deals like swimsuits, lawnmowers or patio furniture. It's typically also a good time to purchase appliances. Whatever you are looking for, remember these important year-round shopping tips:
- Make a list and stick to it
- Always compare prices to make sure you are getting the best deal
- Check for online coupons; including Facebook or Twitter
- Don't be afraid to negotiate for a better price
It's important to do your homework. You never know where you are going to find the best deal. For example, Ikea is having a special sale this Saturday. One duvet cover and pillowcase is only $14.99, regularly priced at $39.99. A comforter is also only $14.99.
While you are there, bring your kids to the food court and get them a free meal and beverage from the September 3-5.
And, of course, I hate to leave you without a freebie, and this is a dealicious one. Pinkberry is trying out their newest flavor and want you to taste it for free. If you stop by a Dallas Pinkberry between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, you can taste the PB&J flavor for free. It's a great excuse a yummy treat.
Keep in mind, it's at the Dallas locations only.
