With only a few days before Halloween, you may be looking for places to take the kids this weekend or for some hot candy deals. Laura Thornquist shares some Halloween "Insider Savings" tips.
There are some great Halloween events to take part in this weekend; it's the perfect time to dress the kids up in their costumes and even do a little early trick-or-treating.
The Fort Worth Zoo's "Boo at the Zoo" has a giant Halloween party where kids and adults can enjoy the day for $3 per person. And, the Dallas Zoo offers "Halloween Nights at the Zoo" at $10 per person ages three and older.
The Dallas Arboretum is having its annual trick-or-treat event Saturday and Sunday between noon and 4 p.m.
Head over to your Toys "R" Us Saturday for a free in-store Halloween trick-or-treat parade from noon to 3 p.m.
Call ahead to make sure your Toys "R" Us is taking part. There are a lot more events this weekend; check out my website for the complete list.
Now to the candy deals. If you have procrastinated, you're in luck. There are a few good deals out there.
First of all, stop by my website and print a $1 off coupon for all Halloween bagged candy at Family Dollar. You can stack this with other coupons, including $5 off your $25 purchase Friday or Saturday for a really good deal.
There is also a $1 off Hershey's snack size coupon you can print. Take it to Toys "R" Us or Walgreens for a 9-ounce bag of candy for only 99 cents. Or, you can take it to CVS and pick up four bags for only 75 cents each.
Finally, Target has 10-ounce size bags of Reese's or Kit Kats for only $2.49 this week. If you have the Target mobile coupon for $1 off, you will just pay 49 cents for a bag.
