Laura Thornquist shares today's "Insider Savings" tips.

Today is Texas Independence Day, so to celebrate you can pick up some special deals.

First Rudy's Bar-B-Q is dropping its price on their famous quarter-pound brisket to only 32 cents between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. This is limited to one per guest. Rudy's will also donate the 32 cents to the Texas Wildfire Relief Fund.

Norma's Cafe is offering an exclusive menu for the day, featuring Texas Frito pie, chicken fried steak and pecan pie slices for only 99 cents. And, the Dallas County Elections Office will be on hand with voter registration forms and to answer any questions you have about voting. They will be there between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
