ARLINGTON - A number of Arlington residents were displaced after a fire broke out inside a building at an apartment complex.

The blaze was reported just before midnight Tuesday night in the 900 block of Linda Vista Avenue.

When firefighters arrived to the scene, they discovered flames shooting through the roof, sending the fire to two alarms.

Craig Oswalt, a resident at the complex, said the fire may have started in the heating system.

"You could see the flames inside the vent," he said.

Oswalt said he attempted to extinguish the fire with a pot of water, but fled when the blaze grew.

Crews were able to keep the fire contained to one building.

No one was hurt.
