Daybreak recipe: Turkey Pita Pockets

I like to cook lots of fattening stuff, but this recipe is actually low fat. It's tasty, quick, cheap — and the family likes it. I call it Turkey Pita Pockets and this is how I put it together:

Turkey Pita Pockets

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 can Ranch Style Beans - drained, with or without jalapenos
  • 1 small jar taco sauce - any brand
  • ¼ - ½ cup chopped onion
  • 1 pkg. pita pockets - white or wheat
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Chopped tomato
  • Shredded cheese

Directions

  1. Brown turkey with onion
  2. Add beans and taco sauce
  3. Let simmer 20 min.
  4. Place a couple of scoops of meat mixture into pita pocket and then top with toppings. Yummy!
