I like to cook lots of fattening stuff, but this recipe is actually low fat. It's tasty, quick, cheap — and the family likes it. I call it Turkey Pita Pockets and this is how I put it together:
Turkey Pita Pockets
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 1 can Ranch Style Beans - drained, with or without jalapenos
- 1 small jar taco sauce - any brand
- ¼ - ½ cup chopped onion
- 1 pkg. pita pockets - white or wheat
- Shredded lettuce
- Chopped tomato
- Shredded cheese
- Brown turkey with onion
- Add beans and taco sauce
- Let simmer 20 min.
- Place a couple of scoops of meat mixture into pita pocket and then top with toppings. Yummy!
