RED OAK – Hundreds of Red Oak Hawks supporters were up bright and early Friday morning, hosting a pep rally for their football game against Arlington Seguin.
A win Friday night could mean a district title and in securing a playoff spot for the Hawk Football Team.
News 8 Daybreak was there as students received “Maroon Mob” T-shirts.
Other highlights included:
- Coach Mike Shields honored by Dallas Cowboys with $2,000 grant as part of their “Coach of the Week” Program. Four Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders and Rowdy (the mascot) were in Red Oak High School’s gym as well as members of the Texas National Guard to recognize Coach Shields.
- Red Oak ISD Superintendent Scott Niven explaining a $100,000 grant from State Farm and Red Oak City Manager Todd Fuller on successes and growth in the community.
- Red Oak Hawks finding success in several sports in recent years, including Cross Country, Volleyball, and Football.
