NORTH RICHLAND HILLS - North Texans will soon take a plunge into freezing water, all to help raise money for a good cause. The statewide Polar Plunge is making its way to North Richland Hills to help raise money for Special Olympics Texas.
Tuesday morning, some volunteers met up at the NRH2O Family Water Park to get a little practice in before Saturday's official plunge. Officers from Law Enforcement Torch Run are helping to organize the splash, which has been raising money for Special Olympics Texas for over a decade.
Participants are encouraged to wear costumes as part of a contest. Registration is at 8:30 Saturday morning, with the plunge itself scheduled for 10 a.m.
