ROCKWALL - North Texans can take to the skies now with the first parasailing business in the DFW area. Tuesday morning WFAA's Colleen Coyle and Wyatt Goolsby went out on Lake Ray Hubbard in Rockwall to see parasailing in action.
"Parasailing the Harbor" just opened up a few weeks located at Harbor Marina at Lake Ray Hubbard. On Tuesday Mayor David Sweet and Chamber of Commerce President Dana Macalik were true daredevils as they went parasailing live on News 8 Daybreak.
"Parasailing the Harbor" owner Rance Rudy takes groups out on his boat nearly 7 days a week. Rudy told News 8 that almost everyone that steps foot on his boat ends up in the sky.
"A lot of people are nervous before they start, and then once they get up there - it totally goes away. Everybody gets totally relaxed and a lot of people that go on the boat that say they're never going to go parasailing end up going on that trip once they see their friends do it," owner Rance Rudy said.
Rudy and his crew will be booking parasailing flights through at least the end of October, weather-permitting. Single and tandem flights are available.
