FORT WORTH - This holiday season, News 8 is challenging you, our viewers to think carefully about what gifts you are buying.

WFAA joined ABC News to see if more of our viewers will shop for gifts made in America, either online or in a store.

On Wednesday, News 8 gave you one example of a place you could look for American products, Maverick Western Wear in the Fort Worth Stockyards. About half of the items they sell are from the United States, but they say they're always looking for more.

The American-made items include knives, hats, boots, creams and even rattlesnake walking canes. For a complete list of all their items, click here.

The average American is expected to spend $750 this year on gifts. If each of us spends just $64 of that on American made products, we would create $200,000 jobs in the United States.
