DEEP ELLUM - North Texans can get a one-of-a-kind experience this weekend. Deep Ellum is hosting its 13th semi-annual Gallery Walk this Saturday.
Several art galleries around Deep Ellum and Exposition Park will be open and free to the public. Many of the galleries are even in walking distance from each other making it easy to keep the creative juices flowing!
Tuesday morning News 8 got a sneak peak inside The Kettle, one of the many art galleries featured on Saturday's walk. Not only does Kettle house amazing artwork inside, but it also has artwork on the outside.
Mural Artist Frank Campagna took his creativity to the side of the building painting a mural in just one day! Campagna's work may be more familiar to you than you think. His murals can be seen all over the city including the Good-Latimer Tunnel and other areas of Deep Ellum. Have you seen the big robot as you drive down Good-Latimer in downtown Dallas? That's one of his murals!
Deep Ellum is known as the incubator of creativity. On Saturday, the art galleries will feature an array of art from paintings and photography to experimental and performance art - many by local artists.
The Deep Ellum Gallery Walk is from 6-10pm on Saturday April 20, 2013. It is free to the public.
