Amy Kushnir of My Texas Today showed us how to make one of her grandmother's favorite recipes on the January 14 edition of News 8 Daybreak Saturday.


Texas Hash

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion - chopped
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper - chopped
  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water

Directions

  1. Brown meat, onion and bell pepper in skillet.
  2. Add rice, tomato sauce and water; stir well.
  3. Cover and cook on low heat for 30 minutes.
  4. Serve immediately.
