FORT WORTH — As Thanksgiving Day nears, the lines have grown outside the Community Food Bank in Fort Worth.
However, as the need for food rises, the supply has began to dwindle.
Last year, Lisa Parhams, of Fort Worth, was handing out food during the holiday season on Lancaster Avenue. This year, she was among the many lined up to receive food.
"We appreciate whatever they give us just to make a meal," Parhams said.
Parhams said she is currently raising four nieces in addition to her own daughter.
"It's all about the children with me," she said.
The food bank is in need of turkeys and hams and other holiday foods.
