Teacher's wife covered up for husband in double slaying, police say

Bradley Blackburn reports.

FORT WORTH - The wife of a Cedar Hill middle school teacher accused earlier this week of capital murder has been arrested, accused of helping cover up for her husband's alleged crime.

Tiffany Nicole Heath, 29, was arrested Thursday at the downtown Fort Worth police station on a warrant accusing her of tampering with evidence.

Her husband, Cary Heath, was being held Thursday in the Tarrant County Jail in lieu of $1 million, accused of shooting Daniel Haros and Phillip Evans Garcia multiple times with an “assault rifle,” then beating both with the butt of his weapon.

Tiffany Heath had previously told homicide Detective Kyle Sullivan that her husband had admitted to her the morning after the double slaying that he was responsible for the two murders, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

She also told Sullivan that her husband had asked her to clean the blood in the gun safe and hide a rifle magazine with green bullets under the bed in the master bedroom, states the affidavit, written by homicide Detective E.C. Pate.
