DALLAS — The suspect in a series of rapes in the Fair Park area of Dallas appeared before a Louisiana judge Thursday morning and asked to be transported to North Texas, according to the East Baton Rouge District Attorney's Office.
Van Dralen Dixson, 38, confirmed his identity with the judge and asked to be transported back to Dallas after admitting he is the man wanted in at least four assaults.
He was scheduled to be transported from Baton Rouge back to North Texas in the next 10 days to face charges in the assaults.
Dixson was apprehended in Baton Rouge Tuesday afternoon following a manhunt for the suspect and was jailed on a $5 million bond at the East Baton Rouge Parish jail.
U.S. Marshals said Dixson arrived in Baton Rouge Sunday and got work doing odd jobs at the Alamo Plaza Motel before his apprehension.
DNA evidence linked Dixson to four of nine rapes reported in the Fair Park, according to Dallas police.
