Plano homeowner shot during burglary

Plano police working home invasion, shooting

PLANO -- A homeowner is recovering after Plano police say he was shot in the stomach during a burglary.

The man's wife called police at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday and said her husband had been shot in the 6600 block of Briar Ridge Lane.

The couple told police that they were asleep in their home when two men woke them up and demanded cash and jewelry. When the husband resisted, he was shot. The suspects ran away on foot.

The homeowner was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

They are both described as black men in their late 20s or early 30s, 6 feet tall, with muscular body types and short hair. The suspects were wearing camouflage clothing, including handkerchiefs over their faces.
