TARRANT COUNTY -- A 53-year-old man shot the mother of his three children and her 25-year-old boyfriend before turning the gun on himself early Thursday morning at a Tarrant County residence, according to the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office.

James K. Brantley, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Michelle Morris, 50, and the alleged shooter, her estranged husband James Lee Morris, were transported to a hospital in critical condition.

James Morris was pronounced dead later Thursday. Michelle Morris was pronounced dead on Friday, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office.

The sheriff's office said they first received a 911 call of shots fired at about 2:37 a.m. Thursday. Deputies arrived to the scene in the 13200 block of Taylor Frances Lane and discovered the three individuals shot.

Authorities say the Morris' three children were also inside the home at the time of the shooting but were not injured and later released to relatives.

Deputies say it appears Mr. Morris entered the home and shot Brantley and Mrs. Morris before shooting himself.
