PLANO — A father and business owner is now facing charges after police say he accidentally shot and killed a co-worker.

News 8 introduced you to Daniel White's family back in March when we profiled his daughter, Micaela  — a teen who is courageously battling leukemia.

It's a story that touched many of you. Now two families are agonizing.

Dallas police have charged Daniel White with manslaughter. Investigators say they think he accidentally shot and killed a co-worker while at work.

The victim's name is Dean Grimes.

White owns Mobile Printing Supplies near Love Field Airport, where the shooting happened on Tuesday afternoon.

Specifics of the exchange between White and Grimes are unclear right now.

We first introduced you to Daniel White and his family earlier this year. His daughter Micaela is fighting leukemia.

Despite being in the hospital for six months during her senior year, the Ursuline Academy student still finished her required schoolwork and graduated with her classmates.

Her father is now free on bond, but the Whites were not at their Plano home when News 8 stopped by on Wednesday evening.

Dallas Police said investigators are waiting to match the medical examiner's report to White's story, but investigators said they have no reason to suspect that this shooting was a murder.
