A longtime anchor for KXAS-TV Channel 5 is out of jail after being arrested in Dallas County on a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated.
Jane McGarry was pulled over in a 2007 Porsche early Sunday morning after failing to signal a lane change in the southbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway.
The state trooper who made the arrest said McGarry refused to take a Breathalyzer test and a mandatory blood sample was taken.
The KXAS Web site says McGarry has worked for the station since 1982.
KXAS offered this brief statement: "NBC 5 station management is looking into the matter this evening and has no further comment."
