Highland Village juvenile in custody after alleged social media threat

HIGHLAND VILLAGE -- Police in Highland Village have arrested a juvenile they say made a threat on social media.

Just before 6 p.m. Monday, police were called about the student, who lives in Highland Village and goes to school in the area. The caller said he or she posted a "threatening comment" on Snapchat with what seemed to be a semi-automatic pistol.

When officers went to the student's home, they found an air soft 9 mm replica, which they believe to be the weapon in the picture.

The juvenile was taken to a detention center, and the investigation is ongoing.
