Fort Worth police seeking person of interest in slaying

FORT WORTH - Police are seeking help identifying a person of interest in the fatal shooting of Chaz Gilley in Fort Worth.

One suspect in the case, James E. Murphy, was arrested Tuesday on a capital murder warrant. Police sent out a news release Thursday requesting information about a second man, a person of interest.

Gilley, 18, of Joshua, was riding his bike home Oct. 7 when he was struck by a black car and then shot several times by an occupant of the car. He died a day later.

The news release, which included photos of the person of interest, said the man in question may be driving a black Chrysler 200 sedan and may be connected to the east and south sides of Fort Worth.

Anyone with information about the man is asked to call detectives at 817-392-4330 or 817-392-4338. Callers can remain anonymous.
