Fort Worth police and the Tarrant County Medical Examiner called off the search of a wooded area just south of TX-121 near Haltom City after being unable to find a body that may have been buried nearby.
Police department spokesman Ofc. Daniel Segura said the Intelligence Unit received a "credible" tip that a body was buried near the railroad tracks in the 6200 block of Little Fossil Drive. The department set up a command center on Sunday and began searching.
They called it off Sunday night, but resumed it Monday morning. They called it off around 1 p.m.
"Due to the rough terrain, investigators are cautiously searching the area," Segura wrote in an email.
Roughly 10 officers were on scene as well as a representative from the Medical Examiner's Office.
The location has been cleared.
