DALLAS -- Two Dallas police officers were not injured after their squad cars were struck by a suspected drunk driver early Wednesday morning.
The incident happened at LBJ and Jupiter Road as the officers were assisting Garland police with a crash at about 1 a.m.
Police say Andrea Smith, 39, was driving an SUV and "failed to control his speed" before he slammed into the back of a DPD patrol car. That car pushed into the other.
Both officers were inside their cars when the crash took place, but no injuries were reported.
The highway was closed while police investigated, but it has since reopened.
Smith was arrested at the scene for driving while intoxicated.
