It was the moment a mother had waited five long years for.
On Feb. 20, 2009, Stewart Richardson, a man with a long history of drunk driving arrests, slammed into the sedan of a Fort Worth family.
Abdallah Khader was a toddler strapped in his car seat. The horrific crash left him all but brain dead.
In a jail-house interview with News 8’s Jim Douglas, Stewart Richardson said he’d like to tell Abdallah’s family how sorry he is. After seeing that interview, Abdallah’s Mother told Jim that she would like to face Richardson herself.
She got that chance Thursday, on the anniversary of the crash. Jim Douglas was there for the gut wrenching moment Loubna Khader came face to face with the man who admits he maimed her oldest child.
He joined Jason Wheeler on News 8 at 4 to talk about the very raw, emotional exchange.
