SEATTLE — U.S. Olympics soccer team gold medalist and former University of Washington star Hope Solo has been arrested after an altercation at her sister's residence overnight.
Jail booking records show Hope Amelia Stevens, was booked into the South Correctional Regional Jail at 4:15 a.m. Saturday on two counts of domestic violence. The booking record, which used her married name, shows she is listed as having no bail.
Kirkland police spokesman Lt. Mike Murphy said officers responded to a 911 call just after 1 a.m. Saturday.
When officers arrived they heard sounds of a disturbance inside. They entered and contacted several people, including Solo. Police said she appeared to be "intoxicated and upset."
At some point during the party, Solo allegedly assaulted her sister and nephew. Police said there were visible injuries on them.
Hope Solo last had contact with the Kirkland police back in 2012, when her husband, former University of Washington and Seattle Seahawks football player Jerramy Stevens was arrested for assaulting her at another gathering at the home. The couple later got married.
Solo will appear in Kirkland Municipal Court on Monday.
She appeared as a contestant on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" in 2011. Solo is currently the goalkeeper for the Seattle Reign FC.
