WOODS CROSS, Utah — Authorities say a woman who was trying to evade police was injured when the car she was driving crashed into a train and then was struck by a second train.
The incident unfolded around 8:20 a.m. Sunday when police in Woods Cross, Utah were called to a home on a report of a domestic dispute.
An officer tried to pull over a 29-year-old woman believed to have been involved. But police said the woman took off, at times driving at speeds topping 100 mph.
Woods Cross Detective Adam Osoro said the woman drove under a crossing arm at a railroad crossing and her car was hit by a southbound train. The impact pushed the vehicle onto another track, where it was hit a short time later by another train.
The woman survived and faces possible criminal charges.
