RICHARDSON — Richardson police are searching for a man posing as a jogger who assaulted a female motorist near Breckinridge Park Saturday morning.

Police said the man flagged down the woman driving in the 3500 block of Park Vista Road around 9:30 a.m., claiming to need help with his injured dog.

When the woman got out to assist, the man — armed with what his victim said was a box cutter — grabbed her, pushed her down, and tried to move her to a nearby wooded area.

The victim used a can of self-defense pepper spray to deter the attacker, who fled on foot, police said.

The man was described as white, between 20 and 30 years old, with short dark hair and blue eyes. He was clean-shaven and approximately 6 feet tall with a slim build. The suspect was wearing beige running shorts and a beige T-shirt.

If you have any information about this crime, or witnessed a man in this vicinity who appeared to be suffering from exposure to pepper spray, contact Richardson police at 972-744-4801.
