DeSOTO — DeSoto police have arrested a suspect in the death of a 17-year-old who was found slain in an alley.

Jacorey Wilkerson's body was discovered by a neighbor taking out trash on Wednesday in the 700 block of Priscilla Lane, not far from the young man's home.

Police said the 19-year-old suspect also lives in the neighborhood and they believe robbery was the motive. The name of the suspect was not released.

According to investigators, Wilkerson's body showed signs of trauma, but the cause of his death was not specified.

Wilkerson would have been a senior at DeSoto High School in the fall. He had just turned 17 and his family said he was a hard-working young man.

"I would say you need to come clean, your conscience is going to make you come forth," said LaRhonda Klein, Wilkerson's great aunt.
