DENTON -- The kicker for Texas Christian University football team has been arrested.

Ross Evans, 21, was charged with criminal trespassing after an incident that occurred back on November 8.

According to the Denton police incident report, Evans kicked in the door of an apartment located in the 2700 block of Colorado Street.

Police said the incident may have been the result of a man stealing Evans’ friend’s cell phone. According to the report, Evans kicked in the door of the alleged thief’s apartment in an attempt to find the phone or the man.

After being identified as the man who may have entered the home illegally, Evans turned himself in to police on Monday.

Evans is charged with criminal trespass of a habitation.

Evans was named 'Special Teams Player of the Week' for his performance in Saturday's win over Colorado State.
