MESQUITE -- Terrell police arrested a 29-year-old man Wednesday morning after he led them on a 50-minute chase.

Officers attempted to stop a vehicle that was reported stolen in the 1600 block of West Moore Avenue in Terrell after 10 a.m. The suspect refused to stop and led officers on a chase that went from US Highway 80 to Interstate-30 in Dallas, and eventually wound up going north on Interstate-635 back into Mesquite.

The suspect, 29-year-old Armando Fuentes of Terrell, at times drove nearly 100 miles per hour in the white, flat-bed pickup, at times driving on the wrong side of roadways.

Police eventually partially disabled the vehicle with spike strips on Galloway Avenue in Mesquite and Fuentes stopped fleeing shortly after. He was pulled from the truck and taken into custody.

He will be charged for nearly striking an officer during the pursuit, as well as vehicle theft and evading in a vehicle in Terrell, according to a police department press release.
