Officer killed
WAXAHACHIE — There's a new development in the death of a veteran Waxahachie police officer.
The suspect, 24-year-old Dylyn Richards, is now out of Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas and has been moved to the Ellis County Jail.
Richards was booked on a charge of intoxication manslaughter.
Funeral plans are being made for 44-year-old Officer Josh Williams, and they could be announced as soon as Monday.
Williams was responding to a disturbance call early Saturday morning when, investigators say, a driver was speeding down Highway 77, hit the officer's patrol car, and killed him.
