Student assaulted
UNIVERSITY PARK — SMU is notifying students about a sexual assault near campus.
A crime alert said a woman reported a fellow SMU student assaulted her Friday at an off-campus apartment in the 3400 block of Asbury Street.
The school's student newspaper said this is the fifth sexual assault crime alert this year.
Earlier this week, SMU named a 20-person task force to look into how the university investigates rapes. The university has been criticized for dragging its feet by using a student-faculty disciplinary council.
