DALLAS — Lawyers for Hosam Smadi will travel to Jordan to depose more than a dozen witnesses.
The Jordanian-born Smadi is accused of trying to blow up a downtown Dallas skyscraper last year.
Court documents reveal a judge granted the defense team's request last month, and the judge ordered that the depositions take place at the U.S. Embassy in Amman, Jordan.
The defense is building its case to show Smadi is mentally ill and fell apart when his mother died. The witnesses overseas would include relatives and friends.
