HOUSTON -- Houston police say a grandmother was tied up in the back of her SUV after being kidnapped at an eastside gas station.

It happened at a Chevron station on N. Wayside at the East Freeway. According to officers with the Houston Police Department, the victim said she was taken by two men at the station.

The men allegedly put the woman in the back of her Jeep SUV, tying her up. They then drove around for hours before the woman managed to get a hold of her cell phone.

The woman called a family member around 9 p.m. Tuesday, who then told her to call 911.

Police tracked down the woman’s location using her cell phone signal, and they found her tied up in the back of her vehicle outside a home on Hershe Street in east Houston.

The suspects had already fled the scene.

The grandmother was taken to Ben Taub Hospital to get checked out.

Police said a motive for the crime wasn't immediately clear.
