CARROLLTON — Police in Carrollton say a man was drunken driving and headed the wrong direction when he lost control of his car, sending it over a bridge early Wednesday morning.
According to police, the driver was headed southbound in the northbound lanes of the President George Bush Turnpike at about 4 a.m. when the car plunged off the bridge near West Belt Line and Luna roads. The fall is estimated at about 50 feet.
The driver was transported to Parkland Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
"The suspect will be filed on at large for DWI," said Nicole Rodriguez, a spokeswoman with Carrollton police.
