ARLINGTON - A fatal shooting involving two neighbors Tuesday night was reportedly spurred by a conflict over walking a dog.

Witnesses said Franklin D. Hudson, 66, frequently threatened neighbors who walked their dogs in front of his residence in the 2400 block of Redbrook Court, just west of Highway 360 in Arlington.

The victim, who was reported to have lived in the neighorhood for about a year, apparently was fed up and decided to walk his dog down the sidewalk, which was when witnesses said Hudson confronted the man in front of his children. Hudson shot an entire round of bullets into the victim.

Witnesses called 911 after they said the suspect opened fire on them when they tried to help the shooting victim.

The victim died a short time later at Medical Center of Arlington. His name was not released.

Hudson faces a murder charge. Bail was set at $500,000.

It was Arlington's seventh homicide of the year.
