A woman was shot and a man was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon following a police pursuit that stretched through two North Texas counties and ended in McKinney.
A law enforcement source told News 8 that the chase began in Hunt County after a woman with active felony warrants was identified as a passenger.
The suspects led police east on Highway 121 and then southbound on U.S. 75.
The tires of the red Nissan sedan were spiked by Collin County deputies and it all ended at a gas station on Highway 380, just west of U.S. 75 in McKinney.
"At the end of the pursuit, a Leonard police officer shot a single round striking the female passenger," said a statement by McKinney police spokeswoman Officer Sabrina Boston.
The woman, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital for treatment. Her condition was not available.
The man was arrested for evading police and for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, Boston said.
