GRAPEVINE -- A hidden camera disguised as an electrical outlet has been found in the women’s restroom at the Braum’s restaurant on Main Street in Grapevine.

But investigators hope it’s the man who planted it who receives the worst shock; it appears he accidentally photographed himself while placing it.

It’s a clear picture of a man who appears to be in his 50s with gray hair and beard and wearing black-rimmed glasses. Police hope someone will recognize him.

An employee discovered the camera May 23, just a few days after Grapevine’s Main Street Days festival.

Grapevine police spokesman Sgt. Robert Eberling said it’s not clear how many victims were photographed. Investigators are still going through the device’s memory.

“We believe there’s one photo of a potential victim on there. We’re also looking to see if there are other photos,” he said.

The man also photographed himself apparently installing the camera at a different location, as well. The Braum’s might not be the only place it was used.

“Oh my gosh, that’s sick,” said long-time Grapevine resident Brenda Hightower. “That’s a sick thing.”

She said she eats often at the Braum’s, which is itself a victim in this.

If caught and convicted, the person who planted the camera could receive up to two years in jail. The crime is a state jail felony.
