IRVING - Police said a man stabbed his estranged wife as she was working at a Denny's around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 4000 block of West Airport Freeway in Irving.

Witnesses told police that the man came in and without warning pulled out a knife and stabbed the employee multiple times.

After the attack, witnesses said the suspect, 54-year-old Thomas Parker, was taken into custody without incident by responding officers.

The victim is said to be 61 years old and is reported to be in serious but stable condition at a North Texas hospital.

Parker was booked into Irving Jail on one count of Aggravated Assault with Serious Bodily Injury.

Police said the motive is unknown as the investigation is on going.
