PLANO — Police in Plano are searching for a 53-year-old man who revealed he felt ill before he vanished.

According to a statement released by Plano police, Gregory Hugh Pierce said he was headed to the doctor's office on Dec. 11, which was the last time anyone saw or heard from the now missing man. His sister, Beth, told News 8 Friday that Greg hadn't been feeling well

He left his home in the 1400 block of Scarborough Lane in Plano in a 2009 white Chevrolet Silverado pickup with Texas plates CLW9605.

Pierce is 5-foot-9 and weighs 170 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Beth said police "pinged" her brother's cell phone, but that search didn't turn up any results. The family is hoping someone will recognize him and get him home soon.

"We're trying to be hopeful that we will see him, and certainly before Christmas," she said. "We're just desperate for him."

Anyone with possible information on the whereabouts of Pierce is asked to call 972-424-5678.
