DALLAS - The Dallas Zoo was shut down for few hours Friday as police searched for wanted man they thought was inside.

Visitors were evacuated from the Giants of the Savanna exhibit around 10:30 Friday morning.

Police were looking for 23 year old Brynell McFarland, a robbery suspect who, police say, ran from them and scaled a barbed wire fence to get into the zoo.

Nearly 4,000 visitors, including dozens of children on field trips, were re-routed to a different part of the zoo while a Dallas police SWAT team searched for the suspect.

The suspect was not found, and the zoo reopened around 1 p.m.
