DALLAS - One man was killed and another injured after an altercation at a Dallas club led to a shooting Friday night.

The incident began when Charles Wayne Savage Jr., 43, got into a fight with Michale Herring, 35, at the Neon Cowboy in the 10400 block of C.F. Hawn Freeway.

Witnesses said Savage Jr., along with 61-year-old Charles Savage Sr., stepped outside the club after Herring asked him to take their argument outside. As the two men walked out, Herring fired shots at both men, a police report stated.

Charles Savage Jr. was struck in the face, and Charles Savage Sr. was struck in the foot.

Savage Jr. was transported to Baylor Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Savage Sr. was also transported to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury to his foot.

Police said Savage Sr. told authorities that he has known Herring for years and positively identified him as the shooter.

Herring was arrested Friday in Mesquite. He'll be interviewed at Dallas police headquarters then transported to Lew Sterrett Jail.
