DALLAS — One man was fatally wounded and another injured in an attempted robbery on a residential street late Thursday night in Dallas.

Deon Bell, 31, and a second unidentified victim were sitting in a parked car at about midnight in the 3700 block of Wendelkin St. when a man dressed in all black approached them and demanded money, said Monica Cordova, a spokeswoman with the Dallas Police Department.

Cordova said the armed robber fired shots into the parked car, striking Bell and the second victim several times. Bell was pronounced dead at the scene and the second victim was transported to Baylor Hospital.

Police are searching for the shooter but have not released a suspect description.
