DALLAS — Former Dallas Cowboys player Sam Hurd is now facing additional criminal charges.
A federal grand jury in Dallas has indicted Hurd on a count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana. He already faced a similar charge for distribution of cocaine.
Federal agents arrested Hurd in January, saying he tried to buy large amounts of both drugs from an undercover agent in Chicago.
Hurd played for the Cowboys from 2006 to 2011. His trial is set for August 6.
