MESQUITE — It was around opening time at the Carl's Jr. in the 2100 block of North Galloway Avenue on Sept. 17 when a money-hungry suspect showed up with plans to rob the fast food restaurant.

A surveillance video shows him looking around to get a lay of the land; then he puts the one employee inside a food locker. Then, when he thinks it's safe, the suspect forces the employee to the first register.

The video shows the employee motioning and questioning the suspect's demands, but with a gun to her back, she empties the drawer of money.

Not yet satisfied, the suspect then puts his gun to his head of the employee before forcing her to the next register.

Finally, as the suspect looks back and forth nervously, the employee unloads a third register at the drive-thru window before being shoved back in the food locker and hit over the head.

The suspect is seen running away with a bag full of money in hand.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6’-2" tall, 180 lbs., wearing a purple fleece jacket, black wind pants, white tennis shoes and a blue bandanna around his face.

Anyone with information about the crime or suspect is asked to contact Mesquite police at 972-285-6336.
