The Carrollton man jailed for the 2011 rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl has pled guilty and taken a plea deal.
Jose Sifuentes, 24, received a 30 year sentence with the possibility of parole Monday in return for his guilty plea. In October of 2011, Oklahoma City resident Jasmen Gonzalez disappeared while attending a family reunion at a Carrollton apartment.
Her half-naked body was later found behind the bushes of a nearby home. She was taken from a bedroom –– her family noticed she was missing just before midnight. During the family's frantic search, Sifuentes came and went. Court documents showed that he could not explain where he was when Jasmen disappeared.
The girl's glasses were found in front of the apartment where Sifuentes parked his Lincoln Navigator. Police later found a bloody knife in the vehicle.
Sifuentes' common-law wife was Gonzalez' cousin.
