LEWISVILLE -- Police arrested a man who they say shot a random person in the parking lot of a Lewisville hotel and shot and killed a man in Flower Mound in two separate incidents.

On January 12 at about 2:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to the Suburban Extended Stay in the 1900 block of Lakepointe Drive after a 42-year-old man reported being shot for no apparent reason in the parking lot of the hotel while he was driving.

According to the Lewisville police arrest warrant, officers interviewed the victim after he had driven himself to the Lewisville Hospital Emergency Room. An officer discovered there were two bullet holes in the victim's driver's side passenger door, and one of the bullets went through the back of the driver's seat and hit the victim in the hip/buttocks area.

The Lewisville shooting victim's condition was not released, but the injuries are described as not life-threatening.

Detectives reviewed video footage from the hotel and hotel staff told police the suspect had been staying there for over four months. The Lewisville police SWAT team executed a search of the suspect's room and recovered several items, including a Beretta 9mm handgun, according to a police department press release.
