KELLER -- Keller police released the cause of death for 40-year-old Gregory Williams and have determined he was shot in the head “by another person."
This information comes one day after Williams, a husband and father, was shot dead in a home he rented with his wife. On Thursday, it was unclear if his death was a suicide or a murder.
It happened on the 1400 block of Jacob Avenue around 4:40 a.m. on Thursday. The wife, Michelle Williams, first told 911 that an intruder broke into the house, hit her on the head and then shot her husband to death.
Later in the day Michelle Williams changed her story.
Police say Michelle Williams admitted to staging a break-in by hitting herself with a wrench and prying at locks with a screwdriver. She told detectives she wanted to hide the shame of a suicide.
But there is evidence Gregory Williams had everything to live for.
"My brother was so strong, I didn't think he would allow this to happen," Gregory's brother told News 8.
Mr. Williams had four businesses, including a smoothie shop and a fiber-optics company, four homes - including the rented home where he died, the home he had just purchased and homes in Forney and Colleyville.
"My brother had a family, my brother had everything going for him," said Mr. Williams' brother, through tears.
Michelle Williams is not under arrest and has hired an attorney. Police say she has refused to take a lie detector test.
