DALLAS — An ice cream truck driver is in the hospital after he was attacked on the job Sunday afternoon.

It happened in the 4700 block of Frank Street in South Dallas around 3:30 p.m. Investigators said a man jumped into the truck, demanding money. Seconds later, he started hitting the victim in the face.

"He just jumped through the window of the ice cream truck and went in and started punching on the ice cream man," said Tony Wallace.

The victim is expected to survive. His name was not available.

Police arrested a suspect.
