Grand Prairie police have identified the suspect who is in custody and charged with killing his coworker in a office building at 2080 N. Highway 360 Tuesday afternoon.

The 2 p.m. shooting spurred a three-hour manhunt that ended with Louis Anthony Davis, 30, being arrested in the 1100 block of Avenue R, about two miles from the crime scene.

Department spokesman Lyle Gensler said Wednesday that Davis worked with the victim, Rick McCowin, at the Crescent Processing Company.

The payment processing facility is on the fourth floor of the building. Gensler said McCowin, 24, died of a single gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the hospital and no others were injured. A motive has not been released, although Gensler said the investigation is ongoing.

While Concordia University has an office and classrooms on the fourth floor, Gensler said no students were there when the shooting occurred.

Davis is charged with murder and jailed on $500,000 bond.
